[ ITINERARY ]

The Rolling Hostel (‘Hotel on Wheels’) is an unique experience that takes you to one of Chile’s most beautiful and diverse forests. The ‘Altos del Lircay’ (located in the pre-Andean Talca Province) is home to significant vegetation, typical of Chile’s central Mediterranean region and the rainforests of the South.

The 500 kilometre journey, aboard the Rolling Hostel bus, allows you to really get to know the park and enjoy few days in close proximity to the nature with hikes and outdoor activities.

1. Santiago - Talca - RN Altos de Lircay After the pick-up between 7:00 and 8:00 am at your hostel we head to the city of Talca where we will stop to do some shopping and visit a vineyard, characteristic for the region. From there we take a detour to a camping spot in the Altos del Lircay National Reserve to enjoy dinner and a rest in preparation for our walk the following day
2. RN Altos de Lircay After the breakfast we collect our hiking equipment and prepare for a full day’s walk through the non-evergreen forests to our target destination ‘Enladrillado’ – the ‘brickwork’ high plateau and vantage point for viewing ‘Descabezado’ – the ‘beheaded’ volcano.
Lunch is provided during the day and, after the long day’s walk, we return to the Rolling Hostel to enjoy a BBQ around the campfire.
3. RN Altos de Lircay - Santiago   After the breakfast at the campsite, there’s time for a short walk to the ‘Mirador de las águilas’ (the Eagle’s Lookout). From there we board the Rolling Hostel back to Santiago. The lunch is provided at a typical Chilean restaurant before the end of our trip.
